Shark Coprolite #2

This is a piece of shark coprolite (fossil poop) from the Niobrara Chalk of Western Kansas (Cretaceous 70-80 MYA).  This has been classified as shark coprolite based on the swirls observed in it.  Although coprolites are fairly common nice specimens like this are not often found.  This piece measures about 2 3/4" long and about 1 to 1.5" diameter.  The dark spots are root flecks that are still attached from growing around this piece before it was exposed.
