Age: Paleocene (59 MYA)
This amber is from a source located south of the Cerrejon Coal mines in Colombia. This amber is much harder than the copal for which Colombia is known. This piece measures 1 1/2" at the longest by 1 1/2" at the widest, and is 5/8" at thickest point. This piece contains a nice very small spider and a numerous other small insects. The piece is clear but has some small air bubbles and one small internal fracture. The spider is very small at approximately 1/16". Other insects include a small bee, ants, and mosquito. See pictures for details and email with any questions. Open pictures in a new window for best results. I will include a black floating frame with this piece for displaying. Piece has been tumbled and polished.
