Enchodus Fish Jaw from Morocco #2

  • $95.00

This jaw section is from the fish Enchodus.  This jaw is nearly complete, but missing the pre-maxilla.  The teeth are natural and in good condition.  The jaw is from the Cretaceous phosphate deposits of Morocco.  We find enchodus in the Cretacous Niobrara (see examples on our page) but they aren't this large.  This jaw is in the natural matrix.  Matrix measures approximately 8 inches by 5 inches and is about 2 inches thick.  Longest tooth measures about 1.5 inches.  Enchodus specimens from Morocco are often faked where they make a fake jaw bone and put real teeth on it.  The fakes sell cheap and quality true specimens are not common.
