Pteranodon Wing Bones 2

  • $1,000.00

This collection includes several wing bones from the same pteranodon.   Bones included are the scapula, humerus, and a partial phalanx.  The scapula measures 4.5" long by 4.75" wide.  The humerus measures 5.8" long and 2.1" at the widest.  The phalanx measures 8.1" long.  One side has been cleaned better than the other for display purposes.  The other side still has matrix and root material (dark brown) attached and glued.   There is also a very thin calcareous layer on the back that is very difficult to remove.  This has been left for stability of the bone.  These bones are extremely thin and fragile.   Collected in the Niobrara Chalk (Cretaceous) of western Kansas.
