Fossil Shark Vertebra
This string of shark vertebra is as found in the natural chalk matrix. I am not sure on the species, but appear similar to squalicorax shark vertebra we have found (with associated teeth). The matrix measures ~13.5 inches by 3.5 inches. There are 20 vertebra present (two are not laying flat). Most vertebra measure approximately 1 inch diameter. This fossil is from the Cretaceous age Niobrara Chalk formation of Kansas. Email with any questions.
